Reporting to the Bakery Department Head (or his/her delegates), this position slices, cuts, packs, labels and prepares various Bakery (Bread, Cake and other Pastries) products in advance for customers to choose from. The position also needs to stock Bakery products onto sales area display cases and display cooler, provide good customer service by fulfilling their requests, and maintain inventory and workplace cleanliness.

T&T Supermarkets is marking over 30 years as Canada’s favorite Asian grocery store and recently announced the first store location in the United States. Our growth into the US offers great opportunities within our first US flagship store, set to open in 2024 in Bellevue, Washington in the Marketplace at Factoria, spanning 76,000 sq.ft. and will stand as the largest Asian specialty supermarket in Washington state.
We have additional plans for growth and will also be establishing a regional office in the greater Los Angeles area to grow T&T Supermarket’s vendor base with American food suppliers.

• Greet customers by providing good customer service with smiles, be friendly and enthusiasm.
• Assist customers in selecting Bakery products and provide recommendations as required.
• Ensure product quality, food safety, freshness and ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department.
• Slice, pack and prepare Bakery products (Bread, Cake and other Pastries), correctly label and display items in the display areas and cases.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness by washing and maintaining relevant work tools are clean and well-kept.
• Keep product display full, attractive and neat, timely replenish inventory if necessary.
• Follow procedures to verify and process expired bakery products and manage shrinkage.
• Receive product deliveries, perform quality checks on products received and take customer orders.
• Ensure daily sales and other checklists are properly completed.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior.

• Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays.
• Able to communicate in English and Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) an asset.
• Be prepared to stand long time and to hands on dealing with products and lifting of products of 20 pounds on a regular basis.
• A good team player.
• Knowledge of basic work safety.
• Relevant experience and bakery product knowledge, display, promotion and packaging techniques preferred.
