As a Cosmetic Sales colleague, also known as a Beauty Advisor, your focus is to support the beauty needs of our customers to drive sales. You are both a product educator and an enthusiast, helping customers feel beautiful and confident while building a client base to meet sales goals.

• Greet customers in a friendly and helpful manner
• Use product knowledge to give expert guidance based on customers' wants and choices
• Build relationships and introduce customers to beauty products while discovering hidden needs
• Demonstrate product use by applying them on the customer
• Maintain proper display, organization, storage, and restocking of inventory
• Utilize the clientele program to connect with customers, achieve sales goals, inform about promotions, and enroll them in reward programs
• Participate in pre-selling and sales-boosting events to increase sales and reach personal targets
• Attend training through Macy’s educational resources, including vendor and virtual trainings
• Merchandise new arrivals, process damages, testers, and return appropriate merchandise to vendors
• Use point-of-sale technology to sell and fulfill customer orders
• Follow hygiene standards and asset protection controls
• Foster a culture of acceptance, respect, and authentic connections with colleagues and customers

Product knowledge: Good understanding of beauty products and ability to give expert guidance.

Communication: Comfortable communicating with customers virtually, via phone, and in person.

Sales: Ability to build relationships, achieve sales goals, and participate in pre-selling and sales-boosting events.

Technology: Utilize point-of-sale technology to sell and fulfill orders.

Continuous learning: Self-driven to stay current with product knowledge and trends through training.

Makeup application: Ability to demonstrate and apply products to customers.

Subject Matter Expertise: Proficiency in vendor lines and beauty trends.

Interpersonal

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills; work effectively with colleagues across departments.

Collaboration: Partner with the Beauty team to drive sales and deliver customer experience.

• Minimum 1 year of customer service or selling experience
• Previous cosmetic or fragrance sales experience is a plus

• Prolonged standing/walking around the store (at least two consecutive hours)
• Frequent use of computers and handheld devices
• Reaching, including above eye level, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and color vision
• Lifting and moving items up to 25 lbs
• Constant standing, reaching, and climbing ladders
