Job Summary

The Production Supervisor II leads and directs a team of employees in an assigned area of operations such as metal fabrication, assembly, and/or test. The supervisor is accountable for maintaining a safe working environment, adhering to quality standards, and meeting customer demand schedules within established cost goals. Supervision may include employees on more than one shift.

Essential Functions
  • Identify and use lean manufacturing tools to drive improvements and mentor teammates in their use
  • Provide inputs (resource planning, overtime projections, productivity improvements) to management for monthly and annual budgets
  • Assist Value Stream Managers with monthly reporting to senior level management
  • Review key performance indicators to evaluate status and gaps, using data to drive daily problem‐solving (8‑Step, 5‑Why, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Ensure timely identification of quality issues through the non‑conforming materials process to properly process scrap and rework
  • Act as liaison to other groups, product lines, and functional areas to ensure products are built, assembled, and tested within parameters
  • Review daily resource allocation to drive production schedule and meet customer requirements
  • Make staffing decisions in accordance with human resource procedures to build and grow the team
  • Develop, coach, and mentor employees through performance planning
  • Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor or management as needed
Non‑Essential Functions
  • Provide input to and collaborate with Engineering and Quality to define and modify manufacturing instructions
  • Use standard supply chain processes and partner with the Supply Chain team to develop material replenishment systems
  • Ensure equipment complies with calibration and maintenance procedures and requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience:

    3+ years supervisory experience; 5+ years in a related field
  • Knowledge:
    Deep understanding of cellular manufacturing practices, continuous improvement skills (standard work, 5S, material replenishment, etc.), intermediate MS Office proficiency
  • Skills:

    Effective written and verbal communication, ability to align customer demand with manufacturing capacity, data‑driven root‑cause analysis
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree
Eligibility Requirement

Position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Only US persons will be considered where required. As a DoD contractor, we are bound by ITAR.

Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment; normal manufacturing conditions; use of PPE (eye safety glasses, masks, hearing protectors, safety harnesses, etc.)
  • Potential exposure to loud noise, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes; work with hand and power tools
  • Occasional travel to customers: domestic and international (up to 10%)
  • Stand: 10%, Sit: 90%, Lifting: up to 20 pounds, Pushing: up to 20 pounds, Mental/Visual: computer, calculator, filing cabinets
  • Workspace: cubicle/desk/lab
