AboutThe Position

EducationPhysical Therapists in Edmonds School District provide services for children aged 3-21 with identified physical disabilities, motor deficits, movement dysfunctions, or developmental delays that interfere with learning. As part of a multidisciplinary team, Physical Therapists:
- perform program planning for physical therapy or appropriate options for each IEP;
- provide treatment and management based on evaluation results, including direct and/or indirect therapy services;
- offer consultation and education to medical and educational professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents regarding educational programming and disabilities;
- administer therapy services within the educational environment, including documentation, record-keeping, equipment management, space requirements, and supervision of classroom and PT Assistants;
- monitor the fit, use, and adjustment of specialized equipment;
- conduct research and evaluation for school physical therapy services.
- Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate Certificate as a Physical Therapist.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a Washington State Physical Therapist license.
Complete a Cover Letter, Resume, 2 Confidential Reference Surveys (auto-emailed to references), 2 Letters of Recommendation, and Transcripts. Reference forms must be completed by 11:00 p.m. on the closing date to proceed in the selection process.
SalaryRange: $80,136 - $143,159 for 2024-25. Placement depends on FTE, educational level, and work experience. Salaries are prorated for less than full-time or partial-year employment.
BenefitsIncludes Washington state health insurance (SEBB) and retirement. Eligibility depends on expected compensated hours (e.g., 630 hours/year for health, 70 hours/month for retirement). Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance, and options for HSA, FSA, and DCAP. Additional benefits include paid sick/personal leave, Employee Assistance Program, Deferred Compensation, and 403(b) plans.
Physical RequirementsThe role involves navigating school environments, assisting students with physical support or challenging behaviors, and performing manual tasks up to 25 pounds. Visual and manual dexterity are required, with accommodations available for disabilities.
