Edmonds College is seeking an English Language Institute (ELI) Permanent Faculty member.
Salary$88,536.91 - $89,988.74
LocationLynnwood, Washington

DescriptionAs an ELI Faculty Member, you will be responsible for teaching and providing leadership in various ELI courses, including Beginner through High Intermediate ELI courses for international students focused on grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Responsibilities- Develop curriculum, prepare teaching materials, and develop and assess learning outcomes to evaluate student work.
- Assign grades and maintain required records.
- Provide academic advising and consult with students.
- Perform department head duties and participate in achieving the college's mission and goals.
- Uphold the college's values and participate in college governance through department and division work.
- Take on committee assignments and engage in required professional development and college in-service activities, including employee orientation and college compliance training.
- Conduct personal and program evaluation.
- Teach fully face‑to‑face, Monday through Friday.
- BA or higher in TESL/TESOL, or BA or higher in a related field (e.g., Linguistics) plus a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language or a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, conferred prior to the start of employment.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching English to multilingual learners, including experience with engaging and serving learners and addressing the impacts of TESL on learners.
- Experience in designing and delivering culturally, linguistically, and socially responsive curriculum and assessments for English language learners.
- Expertise in the Field – Demonstrate subject matter expertise, technological competency, and utilization of evidence‑based teaching practices that actively engage all students in the learning process regardless of class modality.
- Cultural Competency – Demonstrated ability to create a learning environment that fosters student belonging and engagement by employing a curriculum that promotes cross‑cultural connection and commitment to reflection, training, and collaboration to improve teaching.
- Commitment to Access and Educational Success for All – Demonstrated experience providing access and educational success for all students.
