Instructor Position:
Digital Arts, Technology & STEM
Edmonds College, in conjunction with Black Rocket Productions, is seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and talented individuals to work as Lead Instructors to help teach tech-based camps such as Roblox, digital music creation, Minecraft, coding, and more. This position involves delivering engaging technology education to youth and helping run summer camps.
Overview

- 3 Weeks (Monday through Friday) from July 13th – July 31st
- 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
- In-room with kids ages 8-15
- Comprehensive PAID training
- No formal experience required
- Spend the summer with our AMAZING students having fun with technology
- Located within commuting distance of Edmonds College in Lynnwood, WA, and have a reliable form of transportation
- Experience with children in an educational setting preferred but not required
- Strong technology skills are preferred, such as 3D modeling, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, etc.
- Available to complete online training, PAID (Train at your own pace)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to offer accommodations or work sponsorship
- Must be available to work all three of the weeks listed
- 21 years of age or older preferred, 18 years of age required
- College graduates with a degree in education, digital arts, computer science, information technology or related fields and/or significant relevant work experience are ideal. College seniors with experience with groups of kids are also encouraged to apply
- Experience teaching kids is not required, but the ideal candidate will have some experience with kids in a formal or informal setting (classroom, volunteering, childcare, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
- Ability to facilitate a class of up to 22 kids with a co-teacher in a technology setting
- Experience working with children is preferred, but not required
- Teaching or classroom management experience is preferred, but not required
- Fine Arts or Technology-based field of study preferred, but not required
- Prepare adequately by reviewing and internalizing the prepared curricula for the courses to be taught
- Prepare for and deliver curriculum to groups of up to 22 campers with an additional experienced instructor
- Familiarize oneself with the necessary software in order to educate and utilize in the classroom
- Implement the curriculum as written, adapting it as needed to improve the camper experience or accommodate individual campers
- Provide leadership, energy and camp spirit, constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individual campers
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in and outside the classroom
- $45/hour for a Lead Instructor position + paid training hours
- $25/hour for an Assistant Instructor position + paid training hours
