About the RoleWe are seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Maintenance Technician. This role will keep two historic, fully subsidized senior housing communities—Olympia Square Apartments and Chestnut Gardens Apartments—operating safely and efficiently. Olympia Square is a 44‑unit, 100% Section 8 property located in Lynn, MA. Chestnut Gardens is a 65‑unit community in Lynn, MA. Both properties are part of our mission to preserve and improve affordable housing for seniors while honoring the historic fabric of the community.
AboutYour Impact
- Ensure a safe, secure and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors and staff.
- Maintain knowledge of pertinent laws and EPA/OSHA regulations.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions throughout the community.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on all appropriate equipment.
- Clean work areas and handle safety‑related duties.
- Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs.
- Ensure all make‑ready repairs and services are completed.
- Inspect and coordinate all needed make‑ready repairs and services.
- Assist in keeping grounds neat and clean; rake, sweep, shovel as necessary.
- At least 1 year of experience in apartment maintenance.
- High School diploma or GED required; HVAC certification preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance coverage (use of personal vehicle may be required).
- Flexible schedule with weekends and on‑call availability as needed.
- Skilled in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, user‑moved aids, mechanical equipment and measuring devices.
- Able to perform the following duties 66-100% of the time: stand, bend/stoop/squat/kneel, climb stairs, push/pull, reach above shoulder, climb ladders, grasp/grip/turn, finger dexterity, lift/carry up to 75 lbs, read and understand maintenance forms and warning labels.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
