The NAN Project, a division of Eliot, is seeking positive Peer Mentors to join our team. The NAN Project works to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention programs for young people, using a peer-to-peer model. As a Peer Mentor, you will work to provide support to our peers as well as work in coordination with schools to spread mental health awareness.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize attending presentations, school orientation meetings, peer mentor training sessions, and professional development opportunities, as requested
  • Create and deliver personal stories that highlight the mental health challenges faced by young people in school, along with the resources and supports that aided recovery
  • Reflect on how aspects of identity—such as race, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality—have influenced personal mental health experiences and recovery during high school
  • Share stories with the intent to inspire hope, reduce stigma, and educate students about mental health challenges and the path to recovery
  • Develop multiple versions of Comeback Stories tailored to specific student populations and demographics
Qualifications
  • Requires a High school diploma or equivalent
  • Lived experience with mental health
  • Passion for youth mental health advocacy

Location: Training in Lynn

(This is a contract position; the benefits outlined above do not apply)

Hourly Rate

$17 - $21 USD
