Retail Intern

This internship can be hosted at any of our branch locations.

Locations include:
Boston (Dorchester, West Roxbury, Massachusetts Avenue, and Commonwealth Avenue), Burlington, Chelsea, Framingham, Lawrence, Lynn, Medford, Melrose, Newton, Peabody, Reading, Salem, and Tewksbury.

Location preference will be discussed as part of the interview process.

Are you curious about the financial aspects of how a credit union operates and eager to gain real‑world experience in a customer‑focused environment? As a Retail Intern, you’ll work side‑by‑side with experienced professionals, supporting daily branch operations while developing practical skills that will set you up for future career success.

This internship offers hands‑on exposure to financial services, member engagement, and retail operations — all while contributing to our mission of strengthening financial well‑being in the communities we serve.

Our Summer Internship Programis a structured, immersive experience designed to provide meaningful, resume‑building exposure to credit union operations, professional development, and community impact. The program runs 10 weeks, starting June 8th.
Please note, to be considered, candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university program and have full availability for the entire program, as the experience builds week to week through training, hands‑on learning, and project work.

• Structured onboarding and orientation, including systems training, workplace readiness, and program expectations
• Hands‑on work experience in an assigned branch or department, supporting day‑to‑day operations and member service
• Two one‑day departmental rotations, allowing interns to explore different areas of the organization and potential career paths
• Interactive learning sessions and workshops focused on transactions, systems, presentation skills, and professional development
• A summer project designed to encourage critical thinking, innovation, and real‑world problem solving, culminating in a final presentation
• Networking opportunities with leaders, team members, and fellow interns
• Participation in a community service activity, reinforcing our commitment to giving back

As a Retail Intern, you’ll gain meaningful experience by:

• Assisting members with routine financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments
• Learning how to identify member needs and introducing products and services that support their financial goals
• Making sales referrals and promoting digital and alternative service channels
• Building strong relationships with members by delivering friendly, solutions‑focused service
• Supporting compliance and regulatory requirements while learning best practices in financial operations
• Managing risk awareness in every transaction and helping identify potential fraud
• Resolving routine member questions and providing clear, helpful information
