Job Type: Full‑time, Permanent
Salary Guide: from £38,000 - £42,000+ (DOE)
A long‑established engineering and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to develop food processing machinery and bespoke stainless‑steel equipment
. Ideal for someone with strong Solid Works
, 3D CAD
, and Design for Manufacture (DFM) skills.
- Design mechanical products and food machinery from concept to manufacture.
- Create 3D models and assemblies using Solid Works
. - Produce detailed manufacturing drawings with materials, weld symbols, and tolerances.
- Apply DFM for stainless‑steel fabrication and hygienic equipment design.
- Develop conveyors, frames, guarding, processing equipment, and related assemblies.
- Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to optimise manufacturability.
- Support product improvements and innovation.
- Experience as a Design or Mechanical Design Engineer in food machinery, equipment manufacturing, or processing equipment.
- Strong Solid Works and engineering drawing ability.
- Knowledge of stainless‑steel fabrication, conveyors, sheet metal, and hygienic design.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Mon‑Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm. Overtime available at time‑and‑a‑half.
