Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Kings Lynn

Salary Guide: from £38,000 - £42,000+ (DOE)

A long‑established engineering and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to develop food processing machinery and bespoke stainless‑steel equipment
. Ideal for someone with strong Solid Works
, 3D CAD
, and Design for Manufacture (DFM) skills.

• Design mechanical products and food machinery from concept to manufacture.
• Create 3D models and assemblies using Solid Works
  .
• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings with materials, weld symbols, and tolerances.
• Apply DFM for stainless‑steel fabrication and hygienic equipment design.
• Develop conveyors, frames, guarding, processing equipment, and related assemblies.
• Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to optimise manufacturability.
• Support product improvements and innovation.

• Experience as a Design or Mechanical Design Engineer in food machinery, equipment manufacturing, or processing equipment.
• Strong Solid Works and engineering drawing ability.
• Knowledge of stainless‑steel fabrication, conveyors, sheet metal, and hygienic design.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Mon‑Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm. Overtime available at time‑and‑a‑half.
