Under supervision of Chief Engineer, perform the following tasks:

• Prepare engineering, regulatory compliance and other reports and permits as directed.
• Perform semi-complex or semi-detailed engineering calculations.
• Review contracts, engineering or development reports, plans, specifications, permits, and other documents as directed.
• Perform inspections of construction and other related projects.
• Reduce field notes and conduct field surveys.
• Assist in maintaining engineering records, issuing permits and dealing with the public, contractors, engineering firms, city, state, federal, and other agencies.
• Assist in grant and contract administration.
• Assist in planning and attending meetings as directed or needed.
• Assist in pretreatment and code compliance monitoring, testing, sampling and enforcements as needed.
• Assist in miscellaneous reproduction, printing, or obtaining engineering records and documents when needed.
• Assist in the operation, testing, monitoring, or evaluation of the water treatment, supply and distribution system, or wastewater treatment and collection system as needed.
• Assist in investigating claims and complaints as needed.
• Assist in sub-division, equipment and shop drawing submittal review as needed.
• Monitor, maintain and update maintenance record and service complaint record system relating to low pressure, hydrants, manholes, catch basins, trench and sidewalk patching, and other related items.
• Perform other related duties.

• 4-year Civil Engineering Degree and a valid EIT Certificate.
• Some project field experience is desirable.
• Valid MA driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of surveying and the use of related equipment.
• Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping.

Starting salary of $39.83 per hour totaling $82,837.87 per year along with a full benefits package including educational reimbursement.
