Position: Elementary School: Special Education ABA Aide - Greater Boston (2025-2026)

ABA Certified Aide at KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School

KIPP MA is looking for an ABA Certified Aide to work with students who require extra support in order to be successful. The ABA Certified Aide will work closely with teachers, leaders, and family members to meet the needs of our KIPPsters. Flexibility, optimism, collaboration, and perseverance are key character strengths for this role. Our Aide will be a key support person allowing students to make tremendous social and academic growth as they gain the skills needed to be successful in school and beyond.

The ABA Certified Aide will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in various academic and nonacademic school settings. The ABA Certified Aide will collect data and assist general education and special education teachers with data collection under the supervision of a BCBA.

This role requires consistent and reliable demonstration of the following essential job functions and key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities Classroom and School Responsibilities
  • Provide direct student care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Follow and record data for prescribed toilet training protocols as necessary.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable student behavior.
  • Maintain student confidentiality.
  • Attend staff professional development sessions, special education team meetings, IEP meetings, and grade level team meetings.
Trainings and Treatment Team Collaboration
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with student’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding student progress as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavioral Technician, ABA Interns, and co‑workers.
  • Utilize safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with students including becoming trained in crisis prevention and nonviolent intervention.
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings.

  • Effective communication skills to perform assigned duties and to meaningfully exchange information with students, staff, families and others in person, through written communication, in front of groups, and on virtual platforms.
  • Physical mobility to move self in various positions in order to execute duties effectively, which may include kneeling, walking, pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping and reaching overhead.
  • Physical strength sufficient to periodically lift and/or carry 20 pounds of materials or supplies and to physically restrain a student to keep from harming themself and/or others in an emergency situation.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive hand/wrist/arm motions and to operate a computer and office equipment.
