Mission
Together with our families and communities, we create joyful and identity‑affirming schools where students achieve excellent and equitable academic outcomes. We believe that preparing students to pursue any path—college, career, and beyond—helps them lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world. Our program is based on:
- High‑quality instruction supported by rigorous professional development to develop the academic skills necessary to pursue life’s goals.
- A high regard for character development to celebrate and strengthen students’ and staff’s identity strengths.
- Family engagement, recognizing that partnership maximizes student potential.
- College readiness for all students, enabling informed post‑secondary choices.
KIPP Massachusetts began enrolling students in 2004. We hold two charters and operate two “districts.” The KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School is based in Lynn, MA, with K‑4, 5‑8 and 9‑12 campuses. The KIPP Academy Boston Charter School is in Mattapan, MA, serving K‑8. Admission to any grade is admission to all remaining grades in the district.
What We DoWe provide a world‑class education for students from underserved communities in Lynn and Boston. Our students reflect the local demographic mix of race, socioeconomic status, multilingual learners and special‑education services. We partner with families to ensure children enter college and the professional world equipped with strong literacy, numeracy, science and social‑study foundations and a passion for learning.
Who We AreIn Lynn, 74% of our students are Hispanic, 15% Black, 3% multiracial, 5% White, and 4% Asian. In Boston, 36% are Hispanic, 59% Black, 3% multiracial, 1% White, and 1% American Indian or Alaskan Native. Across both districts we serve over 2,200 students and support them through a Regional Office that includes Teaching and Learning, Talent and Operations, and other teams.

The KIPP Network has more than 16,500 educators, 190,000 students and alumni, and 278 K‑12 schools. Our mission aligns with the national commitment to empowering teachers and students and cultivating high‑quality academic environments.
