Job Summary

Assists the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department. Replenishes product throughout the store during overnight hours. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service. Values diversity and supports an inclusive environment by embracing the backgrounds and experiences of the team.

Essential

Responsibilities Service (70%)

Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to help build and retain customer confidence and loyalty. Ensures the department is merchandised per plan. Delivers daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for shelf product availability, freshness, product rotation, inventory levels, stocking—including maintaining POG integrity and shelf price tags/signage, ordering and cooler/freezer conditioning. Offers customers assistance in finding or suggesting product.

Leadership

(10%)

Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job‑specific information. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.

Financial (10%)

Maintains an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reports any discrepancies. Reviews/inspects products for quality and freshness and takes appropriate action. Ensures product is held at the proper temperature per food safety guidelines and retains documentation of temperature logs per policy.

Compliance & Safety (10%)

Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained. Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA & COA, DOA. Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner while ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access. Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifies unsafe conditions to report.

Notifies management of accidents, safety risks, or illegal activity. Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies. Cultivates a culture of safety and ensures all associates have received necessary training. Maintains hazard assessments and PPE availability. Ensures equipment is in good repair and reports remediation of hazards.

Qualifications Required Education

High School / GED

Language Requirements

• English (required)
• Spanish (preferred)

Relevant Experience

• 0–3 years supervisory experience minimum

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Must be 18 years of age
• Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain the same
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug testing and background check
• Strong customer service skills
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills

Environmental Factors

Retail – General Heavy. Physical demands include standing or walking, manual dexterity, repetitive movements, reaching, lifting up to 250 lbs.

Working conditions:

indoor/outdoor, cold, heated, wet/humid. Safety risks: slips, hazardous equipment, noise, irritants, fumes. Required equipment: cleaning supplies, register, scanner, storage carts. PPE: goggles, gloves, back brace. Lifting requirement: 50 lbs.

Travel & Overnight

Occasional overnight shifts. No travel required.
