Role
Summary:
The Fiber Product Manager is responsible for the strategy, development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of fiber reinforcement products used in concrete and cementitious systems. This role serves as the technical and commercial bridge between R&D, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and customers, ensuring fiber solutions meet performance, regulatory, and market needs across North America.
- Develop and own the product roadmap for synthetic, steel, and/or specialty fiber reinforcement solutions.
- Identify market needs, competitive gaps, and growth opportunities for fibers.
- Define value propositions, target segments, and positioning for fiber products.
- Manage product lifecycle from concept through launch, optimization, & end-of-life.
- Drive sales through specifications
- Translate concrete and FRC performance requirements (shrinkage, crack control, residual strength, toughness, impact resistance, durability, etc.) into defined product and design criteria.
- Engineering support for all FRC design & Slab Solutions (sales & customer support)
- Provide technical direction to R&D on fiber design, performance testing, and innovation aligned with ACI and ASTM guidance.
- Lead the technical content for product launches, including data sheets, engineering design guides, mixing and dosing of fibers, and specification language.
- Develop technical tools and design approaches supporting fiber reinforcement and fiber substitution per accepted FRC methodologies.
- Support application engineering, including fiber dosage calculations, mix design guidance, and specification support.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex design, application, and field performance issues.
- Participate in ACI committees, Fiber Reinforced Concrete Association (FRCA), and industry groups, contributing technical expertise to standards and best practices
- Lead new product launches, including pricing strategy, technical documentation, and sales enablement tools (SIP, PDS2
PIMS, Loftware, etc.) - Develop and maintain technical data sheets, specifications, fiber calculation tool(s), and application guidelines.
- Collaborate with marketing to create technical messaging, training content, and project profiles.
- Support key customer trials, pilot projects, and specification approvals.
- Ensure products align with relevant standards and guidelines (e.g., ASTM C1116, ASTM D7508, ASTM A820, EN standards, UL, NSF SDI and ACI guidance).
- Track evolving codes, sustainability requirements, and industry specifications affecting fiber reinforcement.
- Support third-party testing, certifications, and performance validation.
- DOT – QPL Product Applications and Acceptance.
- Qualify suppliers’ fiber products as necessary – steel, nylon, etc. to ensure full compliance with Sika Specifications, packaging and labeling requirements.
- Establish and maintain supplier trading specification agreements for supplied fibers.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
