Draught Technician

Virginia Eagle Distributing Company is currently looking for a full time Draft Tech to work in our Lynchburg, VA location. Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Safely installs, troubleshoots, and ensures cleaning of all draught lines within territory.
• Aggressively pursues competitions draught business to gain taps for VED.
• Ownership of all draught lines within territory to include cleaning and full servicing to remain in proper working order.
• Coordinates, implements and executes On-Premise National Chain Account promotions and directives.
• Monitor and report all competitive activity (i.e. pricing, special promotions, etc.)
• Maintains draught cleaning records to meet the minimum standards.
• Orders and maintains an accurate inventory of draught equipment and supplies. Stays within budget assigned for supplies.
• Ensures coverage and resolution of all draught problems on a same-day basis.
• Administer, monitor and enforce VED Rotation Policy.
• Coach and train On-Premise Route drivers and On-Premise Promotional Team on draught quality.
• Adhere to Saturday operational rotation as set by company.
• Maintain training schedule as needed.
• Solicit, and when necessary, install P.O.S. material in area of responsibility.
• Manage and maintain administrative budget as set by manager.
• Assist in hot shot deliveries when appropriate and necessary.
• Serve as back up for Sales Rep or Driver when necessary due to vacation, sickness, or staffing shortages.
• Attend in a timely manner all required sales meetings.
• Keeps assigned Company vehicle clean at all times.
• Adheres to strict safe working practices, VED Safety Guidelines, rules, regulations, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports to supervisor if not immediately correctable.
• Adhere to and enforce all applicable VED and VABC policies and standards.
• All other duties as assigned to ensure success of VED.

• Must have the ability to safely drive various vehicles
• Must have a valid Virginia Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• Must be able to lift and carry, including overhead lifting, 15-40 pounds or more on a repetitive basis during a 10 hour day with frequent bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and sitting.
• Must be able to push and pull a 2-wheel dolly on a regular basis.
• Must be able to move beverages in and around account. Package beer weighing 15 lbs. to 40 lbs. per case. Occasionally must be able to lift kegs weighing up to 165 lbs.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, utilizing the English language in verbal and written form
• Must be able to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Must not have a criminal history with a felony conviction or plea of no contest to a felony.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
