The Alumni Coordinator at Mainspring Recovery plays a vital role in maintaining meaningful, long‑term connections with our alumni community. This position supports individuals in recovery by developing, coordinating, and implementing programs, communications, and events that promote continued engagement, personal growth, and peer support following treatment. The alumni coordinator works to foster a strong recovery network and contribute to the long‑term success of alumni by offering resources, connection, and support.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute alumni engagement initiatives such as reunions, sober events, and peer support gatherings.
- Facilitate both in‑person and virtual groups for alumni and clients preparing for discharge.
- Maintain and update the alumni database with accurate contact information and recovery milestones.
- Manage the online platform, Mainspring Recovery Alumni app ‘Cared‑For’ and ensure timely, ongoing engagement with alumni in the app.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni inquiries, support, and communications.
- Develop and distribute newsletters, email campaigns, and social media content to promote alumni involvement and recovery support.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., Clinical, Admissions, Marketing) to integrate alumni in Mainspring Recovery’s mission and activities.
- Design and administer alumni surveys to gather feedback and improve post‑treatment engagement strategies.
- Support development efforts by fostering alumni participation in fundraising, events, and community awareness campaigns.
- Maintain a presence in the community to gain supportive collaborative relationships in the community with other community stakeholders.
- Recruit and support volunteer alumni leaders to promote a peer‑led recovery community.
- Track and report on alumni participation and recovery engagement metrics; share insights with leadership.
- Recruit alumni clients to return to the facility to share stories for graduation and other activities.
- Conduct structured follow‑up calls at 30, 60, and 90 days and 6‑, 9‑, and 12‑months post‑discharge to monitor progress and provide ongoing support.
- Support Business Development Representatives by assisting with referral follow‑up and guiding prospective clients and referral partners through the admissions navigation process.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Work, Psychology, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in alumni relations, client engagement, or community support roles; experience in substance abuse recovery or behavioral health setting preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools.
- Lived experience in recovery or professional experience in substance abuse treatment settings.
- Experience with digital marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Hootsuite).
- Knowledge of recovery principles, aftercare planning, and peer support best practices.
- Understanding of nonprofit development or donor engagement strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic, recovery‑oriented approach.
