Build an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment to encourage returns. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals for the department and monitor established quality assurance standards. • Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering product questions across the department and store
• Gain and maintain product knowledge and make suggestions to customers
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials
• Check product quality, review sell‑by dates, and take appropriate action
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise; provide customers with fresh products
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers; maintain temperature logs
• Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needed repairs
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents
• Report all safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Effective communication skills

• Any retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
