Job Title:
Registered Nurse - Cardiac Thoracic ICU (Night Shift)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Thoracic ICU.
  • Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, and implement care plans based on their specific needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Operate advanced medical equipment, including vital signs machines, IV pumps, chest tubes, and ECG monitors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about post-operative care and rehabilitation processes.
  • Uphold all safety standards and infection control protocols, including handling of COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
Qualifications
  • Current RN license.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of critical care nursing experience, preferably in a teaching facility.
  • Prior travel nursing experience is required.
  • Certifications:

    ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (certifications must be current).
  • Experience with open-heart surgery recovery, including ECMO, Impella, LVAD, IABP, CRRT, myocardial infarction (MIs), and congestive heart failure (CHF) management.
  • Ability to handle a dynamic work environment and contribute to a supportive culture, particularly with students and new hires.
Additional Information
  • All nurses must submit credentialing documents one week before the start date.
  • Remote tele-capable tools and patient monitoring systems are part of the unit's operation.
  • Candidates must be willing to comply with the COVID / Flu vaccine requirement or submit an acceptable declination.
