• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks

• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month (per unit need)

• Client Cancellation Policy: The client may cancel up to 3 shifts per assignment due to census.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 2-3 years of recent ICU nursing experience (Neuro ICU preferred)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccination or approved declination
• Experience in a teaching hospital setting preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved prior to acceptance
• No local travelers within 60 miles accepted

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological, surgical, and medical diagnoses in the Neuro ICU
• Operate advanced clinical equipment: vital signs monitors, glucometers, SCDs, bladder scanners, vein finders, remote telemetry, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps, and oxygen delivery devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including mentoring students and new hires
• Float to other hospital units as needed (travel RNs float first per policy)
• Demonstrate leadership and mentoring skills in a dynamic clinical environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and patient safety standards
