Join Centra Health as a Bonus Eligible Clinical Registered Nurse II in the LGH D27 Intermediate Unit, working full-time from 7 am to 7 pm.
Job DescriptionThe Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) II manages individualized patient care, promoting and restoring health according to medical and nursing plans of care, policies, and procedures. This role involves collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans. The RN assumes full patient assignments, planning, analyzing, intervening, and setting care goals, while providing services within the scope defined by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
Maintaining a safe environment and delivering quality care are essential responsibilities.
- Conduct individualized patient assessments, prioritizing data collection based on immediate needs within policy time frames.
- Perform ongoing assessments and reprioritize care accordingly.
- Integrate nursing interventions into the multidisciplinary care plan, aligning with standards and patient outcomes.
- Develop and modify individualized care plans incorporating medical and multidisciplinary elements.
- Establish measurable, patient-centered goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Administer treatments as ordered, perform therapeutic interventions, and recognize urgent issues.
- Initiate emergency measures when necessary and manage care for specific patient populations responsibly.
- Provide culturally sensitive care, respecting patient autonomy and dignity, and collaborate with team members.
- Assess patient responses to care and adjust plans to improve outcomes.
- Document findings and progress accurately.
- Identify learning needs and educate patients and families, ensuring understanding and inclusion in care planning.
- Maintain current competencies, participate in educational activities, and seek growth opportunities.
- Make sound judgments, supervise delegated care, and communicate effectively within the team.
- Participate in quality assurance, safety initiatives, and research activities.
- Handle conflict resolution and participate in service recovery efforts.
- Maintain confidentiality, advocate for patients, and uphold professional boundaries.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum:
Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing;
Virginia RN license or compact license; BLS certification; at least 1 year of RN experience. - Preferred: BSN; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) based on unit specialty.
