Maintenance Technician I
Pay Range: $41,

The Maintenance Technician I will supply maintenance for all Rush Homes’ managed assets in a manner that keeps it in the best possible condition. Responsibilities include all maintenance assessment of problems and needs, facilitating repairs, performing preventive maintenance, effective communication with tenant families, equipping volunteer groups, performing asset inspections, preparing vacant units for leasing, maintaining inventory and keeping maintenance records. The position is on-call for emergency maintenance needs.

- Respond to maintenance requests, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and according to schedule while providing excellent customer service.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and systems to determine the root cause of problems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a computerized system.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment and machinery.
- Perform all tasks involved with unit turnover to include inspection, maintenance, replacement, and painting.
- Perform quarterly inspections of all units and accurately complete all necessary compliance documentation.
- Work with property management on ensuring subcontractors have completed tasks as contracted.
- Supply reports on ground conditions of all assets including exterior lights, landscape, walkways, driveways, trash, etc.
- Maintain inventory of all assets.
- Effectively communicate with tenant families about maintenance concerns.
- Assist Volunteer Coordinator with equipping volunteer groups.
- Ensuring maintenance vehicles are properly maintained and kept in an organized condition.
- Any other activity as directed.
- 2+ years of property maintenance experience preferred.
- Painting, carpentry, drywall, flooring repair, and minor electrical, HVAC, plumbing skills.
- A valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance is mandatory.
- Clean driving record for the last five years.
- Able to pass a drug screening.
- The ability to work within a fixed budget.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office such as Excel and Word.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Effective communication skills.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and organized
