Job Summary

The Pharmacy Director functions as the Pharmacist in Charge and is responsible for operational management of the Pharmacy Department including functioning as the primary pharmacist. The primary function of this position is to manage the department in compliance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, goals, and budget of the department along with oversight of any pharmacy department staff. The director incorporates and demonstrates customer service strategies to achieve the organization’s goals.

This position will oversee all financial operations for the Behavioral Health facility, a 72‑bed unit, and the Inpatient Rehabilitation facility, which has 50 beds.

How you’ll contribute
  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
  • Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Ensures department stays focused on their important role in the continuum of care.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Information
  • Position serves both internal co‑workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with Pharmacist degree. Pharm.

    D. preferred.
  • MBA/MS or equivalent education/experience preferred
