We are seeking an experienced and passionate
** Surgical Assistant

Summary of Role Join our dynamic surgical team as a first assistant, where you'll play a crucial role in operative and invasive procedures.

Essential Duties:
* Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
* Review patient health data relevant to the operative or invasive procedure (e.g., history and physical).
* Assist in surgeries by:
* Using instruments, retractors, suction, and sponging techniques.
* Handling and dissecting tissues.
* Clamping and ligating vessels, coagulating bleeding points.
* Placing drains and suturing muscle, fascia, subcutaneous, and skin as directed by the surgeon.
* Serve as a resource to peers and colleagues.
* Maintain regulatory, credentialing, and privileging requirements.
* Participate in ongoing education and competency verification.
* Ensure privacy and confidentiality of health information.
Requirements:
* Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program.
* Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
* Certified surgical assistant (CSA), Certified surgical first assistant (CSFA), Surgical assistant, certified, (SA-C) or equivalent certification
* Licensure to practice in the State of Virginia
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
* At least two years of perioperative services experience, with a preference for orthopedic and total joint procedures.
