General Ledger Accountant

BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BWXT) is hiring a General Ledger Accountant for its Lynchburg, VA location. This is an onsite position that requires U.S. citizenship and no dual citizenship.

-based company that provides nuclear solutions for national security, clean energy, and other critical areas. The General Ledger Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

• Supports the maintenance and recording of financial transactions.
• Prepares and reviews journal entries for month‑end close.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
• Prepares timely financial reports, ad‑hoc analyses, and insights for management.
• Ensures data integrity and consistency through account reconciliations.
• Ensures compliance with SOX controls and fulfills internal/external audit requests.
• Prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial statements.
• Assists with One Stream reporting and analysis.
• Assists with continuous improvement projects across multiple systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 5 years in a finance or accounting role.
• Experience with Excel and strong organizational & analytical skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
• Must be able to report to work at an assigned office location; remote work is not an option.

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CMA certification.
• Experience with multi‑site accounting operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and their implementation.
• Experience in SAP and One Stream.

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US‑VA) is $76,000 to $119,000 per year, with potential for additional components such as annual cash incentive and other benefits.
