Summary

Delta Star Inc. is looking for a detail‑oriented and skilled Associate Test Technician – Test Technician II (2nd Shift) to join our team and perform daily testing on various aspects of medium power transformers and mobile substations in our high‑voltage laboratory. Full‑Time – Salary Non‑Exempt – 2nd Shift – Onsite What You’ll Do

As an Associate Test Technician – Test Technician II, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of medium and large power transformers, including autotransformers, mobile substations with switch gear, and skid transformers. You’ll perform quality, routine, type, and special testing to meet industry standards and customer requirements. Additionally, you will troubleshoot and resolve any test/setup or equipment issues and maintain test equipment as needed.

Day in the Life

Your role will involve performing a variety of tests on transformers with power ratings up to 200 MVA and voltage ratings up to 230 kV. You’ll work with both Class I and Class II power ratings, ensuring compliance with IEEE standards (C57.1200 and C57.12.90). You’ll also handle control wiring functional testing and troubleshooting, using your analytical skills to resolve technical issues. Regularly, you will use your computer skills for calculations and generating the necessary documentation for testing.

  • Conduct testing to ensure the reliability of medium and large power transformers with ratings up to 200 MVA.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards while preparing necessary documentation for testing.
  • Perform functional testing of control wiring and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Maintain and repair test equipment as required.
  • Follow industry‑standard testing practices to meet customer requirements.

Position Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry objects and tools onto transformers (approximately 30ft+ in height) regularly
  • Minimum Electrical Associate Degree
  • 0-1 year of related experience in the electrical field
  • Minimum Electrical Associate Degree
  • 1-3 years of related experience in the electrical field
  • Minimum Electrical Associate Degree
  • 3-5 years of related experience in the electrical field

Must live or be willing to relocate to within a reasonable safe commute to the assigned plant location. Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer for U.S. based positions.
