Process Engineer – Nonwoven Manufacturing

US Citizens only

About the Role

We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our nonwoven manufacturing team. This role is critical to ensuring operations run safely, reliably, and efficiently while delivering consistent product quality and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Production, and customers to support process development, troubleshooting, and innovation in nonwoven mat technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in nonwoven manufacturing processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Develop and optimize processes for needling, bonding, laminating, slitting, winding, coating
    , and other nonwoven operations.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
  • Utilize DOE, SPC
    , and other statistical tools to analyze and improve process performance.
  • Perform mass and heat balance calculations
    , fluid flow analysis, tension control, and web handling optimization.
  • Support ISO 9001 compliance
    , documentation, and change control processes.
  • Collaborate with R&D on new product development and scale-up initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain technical reports, SOPs, and training documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and proper use of PPE.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Textile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • US Citizens only
  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Specialization in Nonwovens or Textiles is highly desirable.
  • 1+ year of process engineering experience
    , preferably in nonwoven, fiber, or textile manufacturing.
  • Hands‑on experience with industrial nonwoven processes (needling, bonding, laminating, slitting, winding, coating) is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in DOE, SPC
    , and root-cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, or Python.
  • Strong understanding of mass and heat balance
    , fluid flow, tension control, and web handling principles.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
    , documentation, and change control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, reaching, and grasping.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
