About the Role

As the Mechanical Technical Lead, you will spearhead the mechanical design on complex projects, collaborating closely with Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and fellow Project Engineers. You will mentor junior staff, contribute to business development, and help advance the firm’s strong HVAC, plumbing, steam, hot water, and chilled water production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical design and coordinate with the broader mechanical design team.
  • Develop and execute detailed design documents for complex projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and support their professional growth.
  • Participate in business development efforts and client presentations.
  • Apply sustainable design practices and comply with industry standards.
Requirements
  • 6–10 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia, or ability to obtain registration within three months of start date.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Field knowledge of mechanical systems and familiarity with Trane Trace 700 analysis software.
  • Knowledge and application of sustainable design practices.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
Desirable
  • Commissioning expertise.
  • Federal Government design experience.
  • LEED accreditation.
