BWXT is currently seeking a Mechanical Analysis Supervisor for its Advanced Technologies location in Lynchburg, VA.

Job Description / Duties- Build a supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate the timely execution of assigned activities, which includes tracking assignments of team members (including contractors) and setting task priorities.
- Ensure team members have the resources to perform their assignments.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable procedures and policies, and is consistent with accepted engineering standards and specified requirements.
- Assist team members with technical problem solving.
- Facilitate resolution of issues that involve other disciplines/teams.
- Develop team members through training, mentoring, feedback, and work assignments.
- Work with team members to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the Engineering organization and with other interfacing BWXT organizations and external partners/stakeholders.
- Monitor performance goals and provide feedback to team members.
- Additional administrative responsibilities include involvement in the hiring process, providing input for cost center budgets, and approval of time charging.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics is required.
- Must have at least five (5) years of mechanical and structural analysis experience.
- Leadership experience includes positions that involve providing direction to others and schedule as well as responsibility that can be demonstrated by an ability to take the initiative, adhere to deadlines, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Must have demonstrable ability to forge effective working relationships up, down, and across an organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as demonstrated by technical reports and presentations are required.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- If required, must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance.
- Project leadership, project engineering, or project management experience.
- Resource leadership/supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with high temperature gas reactor technologies.
- Familiarity with the requirements of quality programs such as ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or NQA-1.
- Experience in the application of Agile methods for new product development.
- Experience working with U.S. Government customer (e.g., DOD, DOE, NASA).
- Proficient using CAD 3D modeling tools (Solidworks).
- Proficient in performing Finite Element Analyses using ANSYS.
- Experience with ASME Code Section III Division 1 and 5 analysis and design preferred.
- Familiar with static and dynamic mechanical and thermal stress analysis activities for component design.
