General Function
Responsible for the design/engineering of projects of the highest difficulty and complexity. Leads project direction from initial concept to final prototype test and validation. Performs diversified electrical machine design and controls on new or major improvements/adaptations to existing machines.
Primary Responsibilities- Work within Belvac’s documented Quality Management System.
- Peer review new designs and adaptations of existing designs. Attend and lead cross‑functional design reviews when required.
- Manage the design of electrical control systems for standard and specialty products.
- Design, issue and implement electrical control systems for all standard product machinery in accord with NEC and machinery code.
- Value engineer and create bills of materials.
- Generate electrical schematics and program automation (PLC, HMI, servos).
- Ensure compliance with CE code for machine safety.
- Assist the Director of Global Engineering with prototype and experimental machine design, engineering and testing.
- Plan projects, design experiments, review designs and verify designs.
- Produce design output (BOMs and drawings) to Belvac standards and QP4.1 requirements.
- Focus on continuous improvement and thorough documentation of all processes.
- Coordinate and organize work; prepare layouts; calculate; direct drafters and electricians; organize scientific testing and record results.
- Provide technical documentation and customer assistance as directed.
BSEE or substantial experience in electrical machine design controls and logic.
ExperienceEight years of experience in engineering, preferably in machine manufacturing and controls of high‑speed machinery. Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, Rockwell Software Contrologix 5000, ISO 9001, and good technical written and verbal communication skills.
