Job Summary

This is a Band 5 post however the department will consider a band 6 with the required experience.

The post holder will have responsibility for assessing and treating their own caseload of patients and maintaining associated records. As an autonomous practitioner they will be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, delegating as appropriate. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, caseload discussion and formal clinical supervision.

Access to advice and support from a senior therapist is available if required, clinical work is routinely evaluated. Actively participates in the weekend/bank holiday and on‑call services.

The post holder will be required to have a Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in Physiotherapy, and will be required to have completed placements in all core clinical areas. Additionally the post holder will need to be able to demonstrate basic computer literacy.

Main duties of the job JOB SUMMARY

Assess and treat own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner.

Maintains appropriate communications and associated records working as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Provides quality physiotherapy treatments.

Demonstrates a commitment to continued development of skills and knowledge through CPD, training and involvement in the rotation scheme.

Demonstrates ability to clinically supervise the practice of assistants.
