Healthcare Nursing
Job Summary
Southend Medical Centre are sadly losing our much loved practice nurse at the end of January 2026, so we are currently looking for a new nurse with experience in primary care. Ideally, we are requiring the successful applicant to work 24 hours per week over 3 days, on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, however hours and shift pattern are negotiable for the right candidate.
We would also consider a sooner start for an effective handover.
- To work as a registered practice nurse supporting the organisation and facilitate clinical care in a holistic and proactive manner to patients registered at the practice.
- To maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all practice protocols and policies, as well as to provide nursing assistance to the GPs and other members of the primary healthcare team.
- It is essential that the practice nurse works within their own level of competency and expand their role in accordance with practice requirements and their own scope of practice.
Southend Medical Centre is a 7300 patient practice with a friendly and supportive team that strives to provide an outstanding service to its patients. We are proud to be a multi‑cultural surgery, we have been accredited with several awards including our Pride in Practice LGBTQIA+ Gold award, our Veterans Friendly Practice award, our Dementia Awareness Practice award, our Trauma Informed Surgery accreditation and were finalist in the Impact Awards Practice of the Year.
We hold patient care at the forefront of our minds, and we fly the flag for the future of healthcare by being a training and research studies practice.
