We are seeking full-time Teaching Assistants who can start immediately and are passionate about helping young people achieve meaningful progress.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in accessing a personalised curriculum, building communication skills and developing resilience. Working closely with teachers and specialists, you will help create engaging, structured and supportive learning experiences tailored to each learner's needs.
Key responsibilities:- Support students with autism and complex needs in their learning
- Assist with lesson delivery and prepare learning materials
- Encourage communication, independence and emotional regulation
- Follow behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
- Help create a safe, structured and engaging learning routine
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider team
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils
- Minimum 6 months' childcare experience, ideally within SEN
- Driving licence required due to the rural location
- GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/Level 4/5)
- Passionate about improving the lives of young people
- Calm, patient and supportive, with the ability to remain composed in challenging situations
- Well-organised, reliable and flexible
- Able to work under pressure with a positive attitude
- Self-motivated and proactive, using your own initiative
- Understanding of trauma, behaviour needs and communication differences (training provided)
- 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only
- Specialist day and residential provision for young people aged 7-19 with autism
- Strong multi-disciplinary support; nurturing, structured environment
- Beautiful New Forest location, close to the coast
