Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our customers. Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment. Compensation will be provided in accordance with the company’s rules and procedures.

Title: Distribution System Operator Associate
Company: Tampa Electric Company
State and City: Florida - LUTZ
Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; preferred: related college, technical degree, lineworker or substation electrician training.
• Experience: Minimum two years in one of the following:
  • Apprentice Lineworker or Apprentice Substation Electrician in an accredited Journeyman program.
  • Operations or maintenance at a Power Plant.
  • Tampa Electric experience or equivalent at another utility performing dispatcher duties.
  • Related technical positions such as Cable Splicer, Distribution Design Technician, or Planner/Scheduler.
  • Degreed engineering experience in an electric utility.
  • Military experience in a technical role.
  Preferred:
  Experience with ADMS, CAD, GIS and Work Pro programs.

• Working Conditions: Rotating schedule covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; significant overtime expected; indoor office environment; high‑stress situations.
• Physical Demands/Requirements: Position requires extended hours; shifts may involve more than five consecutive days.
