As a Customs and air freight operator, you will work in a fast‑paced environment to ensure the smooth and compliant import and export of goods across international borders. You will act as the key liaison between clients’ customs authorities and other stakeholders, providing expert guidance on customs regulations, tariffs and documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Managing import and export declarations using the Customs Declaration System (CDS)
- Ensuring accurate and timely submission of all required customs documentation
- Liaising with clients to collect necessary documents and advising on customs requirements and procedures
- Staying updated on changes to customs regulations and informing both the company and clients as necessary
- Working closely with shipping lines and internal teams to ensure compliant and efficient logistics operations
- Resolving customs‑related issues and serving as the primary contact between clients, customs and other stakeholders
- Advising on tariff classifications, duty rates, and applicable trade agreements
- Conducting audits of customs entries to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Maintain accurate records of customs documentation and transactions
- Proven experience as a Customs operator or similar role
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Full knowledge of HMRC and IPR processes and software (Sequoia)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
- Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge: customs regulations, tariffs classification.
- Availability: out‑of‑hours on‑call based on rotation.
