HGV Deicer Operators

Optime Group is proud to be supporting London Luton Airport, and we are now recruiting HGV Deicer Operators to join a high-performing winter operations team.

This is a key operational role supporting aircraft turnaround performance during the winter season, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient aircraft de-icing activity in line with strict airside standards.

Role Overview

As an HGV De-icer Operator, you will operate specialist de-icing vehicles and equipment, support safe aircraft treatment and ensuring all procedures are followed to the highest level. You’ll work closely with airside teams, operations control and turnaround partners to deliver service excellence during peak weather conditions.

Hours & Pay

• £22.00 per hour
• 37.5 hours per week
• Shift schedule based on operational requirements (flexibility essential)

Key Responsibilities

• Operate HGV de-icing vehicles safely and effectively airside
• Carry out aircraft de-icing / anti-icing operations in line with company and airport procedures
• Complete required checks and documentation (vehicle checks, fluid usage, job logs etc.)
• Communicate clearly with operations teams, flight crew (as required), and airside stakeholders
• Work safely in adverse weather conditions and time-critical environments
• Maintain high standards of compliance, safety and professionalism on every shift
• Support wider winter ops activity when required

Essential Requirements

• Valid HGV licence (Class 1 or Class
  2)
• Previous experience in a similar airside / winter ops / HGV operational role (preferred but not essectial
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work under pressure
• Comfortable working outdoors in cold weather and during unsociable hours
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Must be able to pass airside security checks and obtain the relevant passes
