Mobile Vehicle Technician

Overview

Hatfield, Hertfordshire - GBP Full Time. Join the RAC as an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division. We bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are — driveways, office car parks, or other locations. You’ll be equipped from day one with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit.

• Provide customer-focused mechanical service on-site, including servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and checks while representing the RAC with professionalism and pride.
• Manage stock, complete reporting, and maintain open, productive conversations with customers to support their needs.
• Think on your feet to make appropriate calls for each customer and adapt to different fixes and daily challenges.

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years’ hands-on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• A competitive base salary of £38,625, with on-target earnings of up to £50,000.
• Guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
• 40 hours per week, with core hours from 8:30am to 5pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
