Position: NDT Inspector (Level 2)

£25–£30 per hour (DOE including travel)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Level 2 NDT Inspector to perform non‑destructive testing (NDT) on pressure vessels and heavy fabricated components in a field or site environment on behalf of a UK‑based manufacturing solutions provider partnered with a leading grid solutions client.

The role will support quality assurance on heavy engineering and fabricated components ensuring their integrity and fitness for use in compliance with relevant standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct NDT inspections to detect flaws and discontinuities using Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT) and Visual Testing (VT) methods
  • Inspect pressure‑retaining components, welds and heavy fabricated structures ensuring compliance with project specifications and relevant standards
  • Interpret weld profiles and analyse NDT results effectively
  • Review WPS and fabrication drawings where applicable
  • Set up, maintain and optimise NDT equipment as required
  • Identify and communicate variances or non‑conformances to the project team
  • Prepare accurate and clear inspection reports
  • Follow project quality procedures and site safety requirements
  • Support other quality‑related tasks and duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Valid Level 2 NDT certification (PCN or equivalent) in UT, MT, PT and VT
  • Demonstrable experience inspecting pressure vessels or similar heavy fabricated components
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Familiarity with applicable industry standards (e.g., ISO / EN)
  • Ability to mobilise and attend site at short notice
  • Own PPE required
  • Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
