Band 5 Registered Nurse

Overview

The post holder will work as a Band 5 Nurse in the Dermatology Department at Arndale House, The Mall Luton. The role offers full training in phototherapy and a range of dermatology treatments and requires flexible working across two hospital sites.

• Full training on phototherapy and patient treatments.
• Assist in minor surgery procedures alongside surgical nurses and doctors.
• Collaborate with the Band Six Dermatology Sister to manage leg ulcers.
• Training for patch testing and photodynamic therapy (PDT).
• Teach and deliver systemic injections to patients.
• Training for Ederma under consultant support.
• Order supplies and medications, including emollients, topical steroids and FP10.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate with clinicians.
• Discuss and agree assessment outcomes with patients, carers and other health care professionals.
• Support the development of clinical protocols and strategies.
• Effectively communicate within the multidisciplinary team (MDT).

• Band 5 nursing registration.
• Experience in a dermatology and phototherapy setting desirable but not essential.
• Commitment to full training and continuous professional development.
