Luton Borough Council is seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Service Director for its commercial subsidiary, London Luton Airport Limited (Luton Rising), and shape the future of one of the region's most significant economic assets. Luton Rising is the Luton Council-owned company that owns London Luton Airport and other commercial assets ensuring that the value generated by the airport is reinvested directly into the local community - through financial returns and social impact.

In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to LLAL, driving long-term shareholder value and delivering the airport owner's long-term business strategy. You will strengthen relationships with business partners, regulators, communities and national stakeholders, while overseeing a substantial commercial portfolio. You will also ensure robust governance, compliance and performance, and work closely with senior leaders and Elected Members to support the delivery of the Luton 2040 Vision.

You will bring a strong track record of senior leadership, transformation and commercial delivery within complex environments, along with significant financial and commercial acumen. You will be an influential leader with exceptional partnership, communication and people management skills, capable of driving change and high performance. Knowledge of company law, governance, commissioning and programme management is essential, and experience in the UK aviation or transport sectors is desirable.
