An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner to join Youth Partnership Service (formally known as Luton Youth Offending Service). This is a multi‑agency provision South Bedfordshire. We are looking for a creative, flexible and committed clinician who has an interest in multi‑agency working within the Youth Justice System to join the service.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will work as an autonomous and accountable practitioner within an integrated team. This will involve the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care provided and effective liaison with all agencies involved with the service user.

- Recognised child and adolescent mental health professional qualification/registration (e.g. RMHN, Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Social Work BABCP accredited)
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Understanding of current NHS/Social Care policies/practices relating to Mental Health and Youth Offending Services and understands the Child Protection Policy.
- Training in DBT
- Experience of assessing and working with children in acute mental health crisis
- Minimum of two years’ experience in CAMHS and/or young adults in Youth Offending or mental services
- Experience and skills in utilizing Routine Outcome Measures
- Well‑developed assessment skills in child and adolescent mental health
- Ability to provide tailored psychosocial/ cognitive therapeutic intervention to children, adolescents and families.
- Ability to work and liaise effectively with other child agencies, e.g. criminal justice team, social services department and education
- To have the ability to contribute to CAMHS through the use of knowledge gained from research, literature, training and evidence based practice and working with children with Mental Health issues from 0‑18 years of age
- Knowledge of relevant national and local policies / legislation.
- Awareness of the underlying principles of CYP IAPT.
