An exciting position is available within a growing group of Accountancy Practices, for a Management Accountant to support a growing outsourced finance and automation practice. Paying up to £40k, with many other benefits, this is an exciting new opportunity

This role will support clients following finance automation projects, where bookkeeping and management accounting are outsourced to the firm. It is a hands-on, interesting role, suitable to a Practice Senior Accountant, or Management Accountant seeking a fresh challenge.

Management Accountant job responsibilities

* Own day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero, including reconciliations, control accounts, accruals, and prepayments across multiple entities

* Deliver monthly management accounts to tight deadlines, owning month-end close, journals, and reconciliations

* Produce clear management reporting packs with variance analysis and insightful commentary

* Prepare and maintain cashflow forecasts, budgets, and rolling forecasts, actively monitoring performance

* Manage and review complex VAT returns, including partial exemption and multiple VAT treatments

* Act as the key finance contact for clients, coordinating month-end and resolving queries efficiently

* Work extensively with Xero-integrated apps (AP, expenses, payroll, reporting), ensuring clean data post-automation

* Support system implementations and process improvements, ensuring stable integrations and scalable finance operations

Management Accountant job requirements

* Minimum 5 years' experience in management accounting and bookkeeping

* Strong, hands-on experience with Xero

* Proven experience preparing management accounts, cashflows, and budgets

* Experience with complex VAT returns

* Comfortable working across multiple finance systems and apps

* Ability to manage deadlines and work proactively

* Confident communicator able to chase, coordinate, and clarify information

* Part qualified or fully qualified in ACCA, CIMA, or ACA

Management Accountant Job Remuneration

* £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
