Purpose of the Job

Based as part of our Project Management team in Luton, you’ll play a key role in supporting our senior project management and design teams across a diverse portfolio of projects and frameworks. You’ll gain exposure to sectors including Water, Highways, Rail Infrastructure, Ecology & Environment, and Building, giving you the chance to develop your commercial expertise in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.

In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of key commercial and contractual responsibilities, helping to manage budgets, control costs, administer contracts, and ensure projects meet financial and quality targets. You’ll work closely with senior project managers, technical leads, subcontractors, and clients to deliver cost‑effective solutions and maximise value across all stages of the project lifecycle.

You Will Have
  • Excellent numerical skills with considerable proven experience of undertaking a commercial supporting role within the construction or infrastructure sector, supporting cost control, budgeting, and financial management of projects.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage the demands of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ideally familiarity with programming software like MS Project or P6.
  • Understanding of construction contracts, legal frameworks particularly relating to NEC3/4, with experience of scope and change management, programme control, and commercial and contractual risk management.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams professionally.
  • A recognised qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
