Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and self-driven Design integration engineer with relevant experience in turbo machinery - aero engine domain in Design, Definition, Configuration Change management with broader knowledge of analysis verifications. As a senior design engineer, you will draw on your specialist knowledge to conceptualize products and develop designs in the concept development phase of technology programs in both metallic and composite parts.

You will lead CAD definition, design and related activities for gas turbine engine components under different engine architectures. You will work within a team of engineers and specialists to plan, execute and deliver milestones in the sprint system. You will be expected to provide technical guidance and mentoring to design engineers and drive continuous improvements in ways of working.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare design data according to GAS standards, Operational Management System (OMS), and technical product requirements.
  • Create design packages including 2D layouts, engine assemblies interface documents, 3D models, product definition, and requirement justification; ensure compliance with design requirements and objectives.
  • Create design packages including 3D definitions enabling parametric modelling and optimisation of design concepts.
  • Perform design validation through tolerance stack-up.
  • Understand changes from Change Orders (CO) and perform updates on models, drawings, manuals, and other design data.
  • Understand analysis verification requirements and its relation to product design; perform hand calculations based on first principles to verify designs.
  • Process and verify documentation such as concessions and non-conformances; provide technical support by implementing solutions to address non-conforming products, designs, and compliance documentation when needed.
  • Store, maintain and release project deliverables, documents, and reports in Teamcenter PLM system.
  • Support and participate in technical discussions, including creation and preparation of technical data and present solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Manage project milestones and track deliverables in an agile environment with good understanding of stakeholder management.
  • Identify risks and issues in projects and suggest mitigation actions and plans.
  • Mentor and develop engineers within assigned programmes; aid in creating and delivering training material relevant to projects.
  • Perform activities with minimal supervision and guide other engineers within the project as required.
  • Identify improvements and create or update work instructions, procedures, technical manuals, and guidelines.
Job Qualifications

General: Must possess technical expertise in the aero engine domain and in the functional area the project/programme is responsible for design, to support tasks. Must have strong technical problem-solving skills and experience with concept designs in metallic and composites.

Essential: Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering / Aerospace Engineering. 12–15 years of relevant experience in an engineering discipline, ideally within an aerospace environment and in multi-disciplinary teams (Design/Analysis, Testing & Manufacturing).

  • Systems thinking to analyse complex interactions and design holistic solutions.
  • Proficiency in creating 3D models, 2D definition in Siemens Team Center and NX; ability to create models/definitions for Casted/Forged & Machined products.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and stack-up analysis; experience with modelling composite structures (preferably in NX).
  • Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD/PMI) methods and with jet engine component definition and design; detailed model preparations.
