Agricultural Service Engineer –
Location:
Luton Area
• Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
• Salary: £16 - £20 per hour (Dependent on experience)
My client is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Agricultural Service Engineer to join their service team. As an Agricultural Engineer you will be responsible for the maintenance, service, and repair of a wide range of modern agricultural machinery to manufacturer standards, with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service and maximising equipment reliability.
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repairs on agricultural machinery to manufacturer specifications
- Accurately diagnose faults across electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems, and carry out repairs efficiently
- Use laptop-based diagnostic tools (training provided)
- Complete detailed job reports, supported with photographs and accurate time logs
- Identify machine defects and proactively upsell relevant services or parts
- Understand and work with GPS systems, telematics, and machine control technology
- Inspect and prepare machinery returning from demos to ensure they are complete and undamaged
- Support with operational issues in collaboration with the service team
- Assist with equipment preparation for open days, shows, and demo events
- Attend manufacturer and in-house training courses as required
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Experience working on agricultural, construction, or commercial machinery
- Relevant qualification in Land-Based Engineering or equivalent (preferred)
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to manage time effectively and work to deadlines without compromising on safety
- Flexible, proactive, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Calm under pressure and enjoys a busy, hands-on environment
- Competitive salary: £16 - £20 per hour (experience-dependent)
