Teaching Assistants - Luton & Welwyn Garden City

Keep Education is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants (TAs) to support primary and secondary schools, including mainstream and SEND settings, across Luton and Welwyn Garden City.

We partner with local schools to provide reliable, skilled staff who help pupils thrive and maintain smooth classroom operations.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering lessons, assist pupils with their learning, and provide one-to-one or small group support where required. This role is ideal for experienced TAs or individuals looking to gain classroom experience while making a difference to children's learning and development.

• Support pupils with learning activities individually or in small groups
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Promote positive behaviour and support classroom management
• Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND pupils
• Maintain records of pupil progress where required
• Ensure the welfare and safety of all pupils
• Communicate effectively with teachers, school staff, and your Keep Education consultant

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Relevant qualifications in supporting learning (preferred but not essential)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures

• Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
• Experience supporting pupils in mainstream or SEND classrooms
• Familiarity with classroom routines and behaviour management

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, reliability, and flexibility
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Organisation and attention to detail
