The Adult Skills Workshops Coordinator is responsible for planning, administering, and delivering engaging weekly workshops for members aged approximately 10‑40 with a diverse range of additional needs and disabilities. The role includes responsibility for activity planning, safeguarding, risk management, behavioural support strategies, and overseeing sessional support staff and volunteers.
Workshop Delivery: 36 Thursdays per academic year, 7 hours per session (9:00‑16:00) – 252 hours per annum.
Administration: 4 hours per workshop week – 144 hours per annum.
Workshop Delivery & Planning- Design and deliver high‑quality workshop sessions (36 per year) that promote social interaction, communication, and independent living skills.
- Create structured activity plans, learning outcomes, and session resources.
- Ensure sessions are inclusive, meaningful, and tailored to the needs and abilities of all participants.
- Uphold the charity’s safeguarding policies and ensure safe practice at all times.
- Conduct and maintain up‑to‑date risk assessments for activities, individuals, and the workshop environment.
- Record, report, and respond to incidents in line with organisational policies.
- Manage session budgets, source materials, and maintain accurate financial records of all expenditure.
- Oversee attendance records, sign‑in procedures, and collection of payments.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including behavioural strategies, measurable outcomes, and member support plans.
- Supervise, guide, and support sessional staff and volunteers to ensure a safe, positive, and consistent workshop environment.
- Lead briefings and debriefings as required, ensuring the team is well‑informed and aligned with session goals.
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively regarding attendance, progress, needs, or concerns relating to members.
- Represent the charity professionally within the workshop setting and the wider community.
