Position: Registered Nurse- Out Patient Chemo
Summary

Put your nursing expertise to work at a Magnet-designated, university-affiliated hospital located just six blocks from Baltimore's Inner Harbor by joining the team at Mercy Medical Center's Out-patient Chemotherapy Clinic.

Our Clinical Nurses (RN) in OP Chemotherapy independently provide care to adult patients with a focus in medical and surgical oncologic specialties such as breast, GYN and neuroendocrine tumors. Working with a dedicated team, the RN provides evidence-based, high quality care, including patient assessment and treatment, and serves as a resource for other team members.

Certification Requirements:
Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hire

PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, Angiography, Lung Center, McAuley Surgery Center - ACLS within 1 year of hire or 6 months of promotion ED - ACLS within 6 months of hire/promotion & ENPC or PALS within 1 year Mother/Baby, NICU/PEDS - NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion Labor & Delivery - NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion and EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) within 1 year of hire Telemetry - ACLS within 1 year of hire, within 18 months of hire if new grad Chemotherapy Clinic (Outpatient Chemo) - ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification within 1 year of hire and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification within 2 years of hire

Requirements

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

* Education and

Work Experience:

* Must possess a high school diploma or GED

* Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam

* BSN Preferred

* Must possess one to two years of clinical nursing experience in oncology, strongly preferred

* Oncology Nurse Certified (OCN) preferred, or agreement to certify within one year of hire

* Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider certification within 6 months of hire

* Must obtain 20 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange.
