PRN LPN

Senior Helpers of Central Maryland, recognized by FORTUNE Magazine as one of the Best Places to Work in the Aging Services category, is seeking a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate care to seniors in the community. This flexible, per diem position offers the opportunity to create your own schedule while making a positive difference in clients’ lives.

This role requires performing intake assessments, writing and updating care plans, and assisting in the care management of all clients and personal services caregivers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Complete all documentation for assessments, plans of care, reassessments, and evaluations pertaining to clients.
  • Evaluate clients on a regular basis or as necessary to ensure client needs are consistent with the care plan.
  • Coordinate with management on implementing and revising operational procedures related to quality client care.
  • Utilize professional assessment skills to identify physical, mental, and psycho‑social needs of clients and develop a care plan within a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to peers and subordinates to maintain professional nursing standards.
  • Act on clients’ behalf to assure patient rights.
  • Be aware of home‑safety issues, accomplish responsibilities safely, and reinforce best practices with caregivers.
  • Respond promptly to any client complaints, document them, review complaints with the SH team, and take appropriate action.
  • Coach all staff in proper safety procedures and reinforce as necessary.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new and current caregivers.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Maintain confidential information with integrity.
  • Communicate effectively with company staff, clients, and clients’ families.
  • Supervise nursing assistants (instruct, assign work, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and client‑interaction skills, adaptable in different situations.
  • Able to multi‑task and work independently.
Education and Experience
  • Current MD or compact LPN license.
  • Preferably 1 year of home‑care experience (open to newly licensed professionals interested in home care).
  • Maintain CEU requirements as required by the Board of Nursing.
