Job Title: Salesperson / Store Driver (Entry Level)
Job OverviewThis entry‑level role supports the DIY business by driving sales, delivering parts to commercial customers, and maintaining store operations. The position may be part‑time or full‑time and requires fleet safety certification for the driver component.
Salesperson Primary Responsibilities- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store attain its sales targets.
- Perform DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper blade installations.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Handle inventory processes including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock management.
- Safely deliver parts to commercial customers.
- Pick and stage parts for customer orders and pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers and collect daily credit accounts.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
- General stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock organization.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use delivery board system.
- Friendly and effective communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently.
- Solid safety knowledge and skills.
- Proficiency in operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Automotive system and parts knowledge.
- Familiarity with POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills
- Speak and write English;
Spanish a plus. Communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management. - Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately across all units of measure.
- Work assorted days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2‑3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, delivering superior customer experiences.
- Automotive parts experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license and fleet safety certification.
Requires walking or standing for most of the shift, lifting or moving up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and other requirements such as reaching, kneeling, crawling, and exposure to various environmental conditions.
Work EnvironmentMostly indoors, with some outdoor duties exposed to weather conditions; potential exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, electrical shock, vibrations, and moderate noise levels.
